Leica introduces the Sofort 2 instant camera and printer combo
Leica has unveiled the Sofort 2, a remarkable instant camera and printer combination that offers both digital capabilities and the charm of instant photography.
Leica has unveiled its long-awaited second-generation instant camera, aptly named the Sofort 2 (with "sofort" meaning "immediately" in German). This sequel, seven years in the making, promises to be a worthy successor.

From the exterior, the Sofort 2 bears the unmistakable Leica hallmark - a finely crafted device that stands out in its market segment. It is available in three striking colors: Black, Red, and White.
The most substantial improvement over its predecessor, the first Sofort, is that the Sofort 2 is no longer just an instant camera. It has evolved into a hybrid digital camera, featuring a 1/5" CMOS sensor capable of capturing 4.9MP photos, which can be stored on a microSD card. The user now has the choice to select which photos they wish to print.
In a unique twist, the Leica Sofort 2 also doubles as a photo printer. Users can transmit images taken on their smartphone or Leica camera to the Sofort 2 and print them. It employs Sofort color film mini, which measures 86 × 54 mm.
On the rear of the camera, there is a 3-inch LCD screen, complete with a menu interface reminiscent of Leica's high-end cameras.
The front of the Sofort 2 sports a 28mm equivalent Leica Summar f/2 lens, offering the same focal length as the popular Leica Q series fixed-lens cameras. The lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of 10cm. Additionally, a front flash is included, a traditional feature of instant cameras.
The Leica Sofort 2 is set to be available on November 9th, with a price tag of €389/$389. While this places it at a higher price point than the popular Instax Evo from Fujifilm, it's important to note that this is a Leica, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and image quality, making it an enticing option for enthusiasts and collectors.
