Samsung's high-end 8K Neo QLED TV has hit the market in South Korea. This 98-inch premium device, priced at a significant KRW 49.9 million ($39,000), offers an array of appealing features. The TV is noted for its slim design, enhanced with metal accents around the bezels and on the back.

This Samsung 8K Neo QLED TV, labeled as the QNC990 model, complements Samsung's other high-end 98-inch models with QLED and Neo QLED 4K. The QNC990 boasts an 8K resolution, combined with a Mini LED panel. It supports a variety of display modes including HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10+ Gaming, and HLG. This TV can achieve maximum brightness thanks to its hundreds of local dimming zones. Notably, it also features a 144Hz variable refresh rate and AMD Freesync Premium Pro compatibility.

The QNC990 is designed to enhance viewers' experience with an anti-glare coating that effectively minimizes glare and reflection from light sources. It's Pantone-validated to ensure optimal and accurate color production. You can even fine-tune the color output using the SmartThings smartphone app.

Sound quality matches the visual experience with a 6.4.4-channel speaker system boasting 120W output. It is also compatible with Dolby Atmos Wireless, Q-Symphony 3.0, Object Tracking Sound, Active Voice Amplifier, and Adaptive Sound+. The TV comes equipped with the Neo Quantum Processor 8K chip and operates on the Tizen 7.0 operating system.

This Samsung TV comes packed with a multitude of features. Among these are various audio and video streaming apps, along with Samsung TV Plus, Samsung Health, and Game Bar 3.0, to name a few.

Several connectivity options are available, including HDMI, USB, an optical out port, and an RF port. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Its speakers are strategically placed at the rear and edges of the TV. This TV also works with Philips Hue smart lighting and features a One Connect Box for simple setup. There's no information yet about when or if the Samsung 98-inch 8K Neo QLED TV will become available globally.
