Dell takes a significant step towards the monitor sector

Dell, renowned for its extensive range of computing products, has unveiled two new additions to its UltraSharp series: the U2424H and U2424HE. These high-refresh-rate monitors are priced at 2499 yuan ($341) and 2799 yuan ($382) respectively and are set to be available on Tmall starting from October 24th.

Both the U2424H and U2424HE showcase a 23.8-inch IPS display with impressive specifications: a resolution of 1920×1080, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 250 nits. These monitors stand out for their color performance, covering 100% sRGB, 100% BT.709, and 85% DCI-P3. Their ability to display approximately 16.79 million colors is further accentuated with a ΔE of less than 2, ensuring color accuracy.

In terms of design, both models have a contemporary look with ultra-narrow bezels and a platinum silver finish. Users will appreciate the adjustability features, which include a 150mm height adjustment, a tilt range from -5° to 21°, swivel capabilities from -45° to 45°, and a full 90° rotation. Though they share many characteristics, there is a slight difference in their weight; the U2424HE tips the scales at 3.98 kg, while the U2424H is a tad lighter at 3.52 kg.

Among their standout features is the ALS ambient light sensor, which automatically adjusts the screen brightness based on the environment's light levels. Combined with an advanced blue light reduction technology, which claims to cut down harmful blue light by 65%, these monitors ensure an eye-friendly experience. Their commitment to user well-being is further validated by a certification from TÜV Rheinland in Germany.

For those requiring diverse connectivity options, the U2424HE emerges as the preferable choice. It offers a Kensington lock, HDMI and DP inputs, a 90W USB Type-C power input, 10Gbps USB Type-C and Type-A ports (both second-generation USB 3.2), an audio port, and a 2.5G capacity RJ45 port. Additionally, it supports KVM switch functionality, enabling control over multiple devices with just one keyboard and mouse. On the other hand, the U2424H model, while impressive, lacks a few of these features, such as the 90W charging, RJ45 port, and KVM switch.
