Asus introduces its wired mechanical keyboard model this time
Recently accelerating their launches, Asus now presents its new wired mechanical keyboard model.
ASUS has broadened its keyboard portfolio with the launch of the ROG Ranger 2 series wired mechanical keyboard. This latest introduction serves as a successor to its previous wireless variant. With the promise of advanced features at a competitive price point, the ROG Ranger 2 aims to present a more economical option for tech enthusiasts. Although set to be available from September 9th, the exact pricing remains under wraps.
One of the standout features of the revamped ROG Ranger 2 is the integration of sound-absorbing foam at its base. This design choice aims to curtail noise, diminish vibrations, and offer a seamless keystroke experience. Another innovative addition is the multifunctional knob switch. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this feature brings functionality to the fore, enabling swift adjustments like volume alteration. ASUS has complemented this with added shortcut keys, enhancing the keyboard's overall utility. For the convenience of its users, a detachable cable design has been incorporated.

Delving deeper into the keyboard's specifics, users get the liberty to choose between the RX optical switch and the NX mechanical switch, catering to individual typing predilections. The RX optical switch, with its distinctive square volcano-shaped opening and an X-structure stabilizer, promises reduced keycap wobbling and heightened stability. Available in two variants, the RX Red and RX Blue, each offers a distinct typing experience. The former guarantees a linear sensation with 1.5mm key travel and 45g actuation force, while the latter gives a tactile feedback starting at 30g, escalating to 65g. It's worth noting that actuation force pertains to the pressure or weight needed for a keypress registration on a mechanical keyboard.
Lastly, the NX mechanical switch is available in two flavors: Snowblade White and Blizzard Gray. While the Snowblade White provides a gentler tactile experience with 45g actuation force and 3.6mm key travel, the Blizzard Gray delivers a crisper touch with an initial 40g force, maintaining the same key travel.
