Acer delights gamers: XV242F monitor with 540Hz display hits the market
Acer has introduced the new XV242F gaming monitor, designed for gamers. With its 24.1-inch 540Hz TN panel, this monitor promises a seamless and high-level gaming experience.
Acer, a well-regarded global technology company, is known for producing affordable and reliable computer hardware. Their products, ranging from laptops and desktops to monitors and peripherals, cater to both casual users and professionals. This diverse product range has positioned Acer as a popular choice for those seeking quality technology solutions at accessible prices.
The latest addition to Acer's impressive lineup is the XV242F gaming monitor, which was recently launched in the Chinese market and is now available for purchase. The XV242F is a testament to Acer's commitment to the gaming community, offering features that cater to the needs of both professional esports players and gaming enthusiasts.
The monitor boasts a slim bezel design, incorporating a 24.1-inch TN panel with FHD (1920×1080) resolution. Its most striking feature is an ultra-high 540Hz refresh rate, achievable when connected through DisplayPort. This high refresh rate, paired with a 1ms (GtG) response time, ensures rapid and smooth visual performance, crucial for high-speed gaming scenarios.

While the TN panel of the XV242F provides fast response times, essential for reducing motion blur in dynamic scenes, it does come with some limitations. TN panels typically offer less vibrant colors and narrower viewing angles compared to other panel types like IPS or VA. This might be a consideration for users who require high color accuracy for tasks such as design or video post-production.
In terms of color performance, the XV242F covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut and supports an 8-bit color depth, producing 16.7 million colors. It also has a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 and achieves a brightness level of 400 nits. The monitor is equipped with two 2W speakers, providing adequate audio quality for gaming.
Notably, the XV242F supports HDR technology and has earned DisplayHDR™ 400 certification, ensuring enhanced dynamic range and finer picture details, particularly beneficial in HDR-enabled games. It also features AMD FreeSync Premium technology, which synchronizes the refresh rate with the GPU, reducing screen tearing and stutter for a smoother gaming experience.
The monitor's ergonomic stand design offers height adjustment, horizontal and vertical rotation, and tilt angle adjustment, catering to various viewing preferences. For connectivity, it includes HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.4 ports, along with an audio-out interface.
Earlier this month, Acer also introduced another gaming monitor, the Acer Nitro XV275UX, which offers a 2K resolution and an impressive 240Hz refresh rate.
