4.0 GHz GPU overclocking threshold surpassed by ASUS RTX 4090
ASUS RTX 4090 breaks the 4.0 GHz GPU overclocking threshold, marking a groundbreaking achievement in high-performance graphics.
Renowned overclocker Splave has achieved a remarkable milestone with the Asus ROG Matrix variant of the RTX 4090 graphics card. The GPU, known for its exceptional performance, has successfully surpassed the highly coveted 4.0 GHz threshold under Splave's expert hands.
4.0 GHz GPU overclocking threshold surpassed by ASUS RTX 4090
Last month, Asus released the ROG Matrix 4090, an all-in-one (AIO) graphics card designed to deliver exceptional performance by utilizing binned chips from the RTX 4090 series. This specialized card caught the attention of overclocker Splave, who recently achieved a significant breakthrough.
By harnessing the power of the ROG Matrix 4090, Splave successfully shattered the 4000 MHz barrier, achieving an impressive overclock of 4005 MHz. This accomplishment was showcased on HWBOT using the GPUPI benchmark, which employs GPUs to calculate the mathematical constant Pi.
Splave's groundbreaking overclock, surpassing the 4000 MHz barrier with the ROG Matrix 4090, was not accomplished using the included Asus's Matrix AIO cooling solution. Instead, liquid nitrogen was employed, a popular choice among overclockers for achieving such extreme clock speeds. This method resulted in incredibly low temperatures, reaching -34.6°C, despite the GPU running at such a high clock speed.
