It is very difficult to distinguish whether it is real or a game.

A new demo landscape developed within Unreal Engine 5.1 graphics engine has been made available by MAWI United GmbH. The new demo depicts an oasis and a desert landscape. This demo focuses on the environment, therefore, it does not show characters moving. However, it is extremely impressive for the level of graphic quality that Unreal Engine 5.1 can feature.

Another impressive Unreal Engine 5.1 demo, Dune Desert Landscape, has been recently released by MAWi United, that is the creator of the Redwood and Conifer Forest demos.

It is possible to achieve 60 frames per second at 4K resolution on a computer with a GeForce RTX 4090 and a Ryzen 9 7950X; however, these frames per second are not stable, with drops below 50 frames per second. The demonstration is spectacular and almost photorealistic.

This demo makes use of Lumen and Nanite, as well as all of the fundamental innovations in Unreal Engine 5.1. MAWI United GmbH states that those who want to experience this demo need at least a GeForce RTX 2080, but they recommend a GeForce RTX 3080. The developer also released a few videos showing this landscape at various times of the day. You can watch them below.
