The development process of GTA 6 surprised many
The new adventure of one of the gaming world's most popular series, GTA, continues its development for almost 10 years.
Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is rapidly becoming one of the most anticipated game releases. Developed by Rockstar Games, this sequel to the incredibly successful GTA 5 is believed to be under active development and set to debut in the near future. Although official confirmation about GTA 6's development only came out recently, it seems that the project has been underway in secrecy for quite some time.
Historically, Rockstar Games has often initiated work on sequels shortly after the release of the current title. This practice was evident when GTA 4 started its pre-production in 2004, immediately after the launch of GTA San Andreas.
The development process of GTA 6 surprised many
Similarly, GTA 5’s development began not long after GTA 4 was released in 2008. It's suggested that the publisher, Take-Two Interactive, maintained this trend for GTA 6.
Former Rockstar Research Video Editor, Jon Young, has indicated that he had been involved in the GTA 6 project for three years, concluding his role in 2018. If this is accurate, Rockstar Games has dedicated almost a decade to the development of this eagerly awaited game. Additionally, Rockstar is not limiting its efforts to GTA 6 alone. Reports indicate that they are also focused on developing two new titles from the Bully series. Although Bully 2 was once in development, it was eventually shelved. Nonetheless, it appears that the franchise hasn't been entirely abandoned. As for GTA 6, expectations are that it will see a release sometime next year, but an official launch date remains to be announced.
