Steam, the world's largest gaming platform, comes up with new success stories. Now, Steam has once again broken its own concurrent user record. According to details, over 30 million users were online at one time this weekend. 

Steam breaks a new record for concurrent users

Steam, owned by Valve, continues to break new records. The world's most used gaming platform has managed to stay at the top of the lists since its launch. The company has now renewed its success with a new record.

As SteamDB reveals, there were exactly 30,032,005 million user on Steam on October 23, 2022. Moreover, 8.5 million of these players were concurrently playing games at that time. This number is nearly equal to the population of Switzerland, the 99th most populous country in the world.

The most played game was Counter Strike: Global Offensive at the time the concurrent user record was broken. According to the graphics, 1.5 million players were playing this game when the record was broken.

Steam reached 10 million concurrent users for the first time in 2015. Moreover, it saw 14 million concurrent users in 2017. Exceeding 20 million users threshold in March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic, Steam hosted 29 million users at the beginning of 2022. Now that number has risen to over 30 million by breaking another record for concurrent users. 

It is believed that Steam will maintain this success. These numbers will increase as technology becomes more widespread among the world.
