Pixel Tablet models received a comprehensive new update
In July 2023, Google rolled out an Android security update for its Pixel phones and the new Pixel Tablet. This update aimed primarily at resolving bugs and enhancing device security. Following its launch, intriguing details about the Pixel Tablet surfaced online, particularly about its enhanced Stylus support.
Mishaal Rahman recently shared that the Pixel Tablet is now compatible with the USI 2.0 stylus. When a USI 2.0 stylus pen connects to the tablet, users encounter two novel options: “Default Notes App” and “Write in Text Field.” The latter transforms freehand writings into digital text within the device, allowing further edits or removals.

Moreover, users can experiment with the tablet’s new stylus handwriting gestures through Gboard. These functionalities comprise various actions, such as writing, deleting, selecting, merging words, and transitioning to new lines. However, some users reported difficulties with specific features, possibly linked to the absence of a suitable Android version on their device. Given recent discussions about Android 14’s enhancements in keyboard and stylus coordination, one might anticipate these issues will be addressed in future updates for the Pixel Tablet.
