This time things are going to change .According to the last details, Netflix will enter the cloud gaming service industry. Let's take a look at what the company will offer with its new service.
Netflix "seriously exploring" Its Own Cloud Gaming Platform
Netflix is having some issues recently. Company has lost a great number of subscribers lately. However, this issue is not problem for the company. Announcing its third quarter earnings, the streaming giant gave the good news. Netflix has announced that they are "seriously exploring" its own cloud gaming platform and they will start the service soon.
For the time being, Amazon and Nvidia are actively involved in cloud gaming platforms. On the other hand, Netflix is preparing to be a big competitor to these two companies offering a challenging service. However, it is not clear what kind of cloud gaming service Netflix will offer.
In addition to cloud gaming platform, Netflix also announced that they will open a game studio. Thus, the company will start to develop its own games. Nike Verdu, Vice President of Netflix Games made some statements as well:
“We will open a new game development studio in Southern California. Unlike the game studios we have purchased before, we will come up with a studio that we opened with our own means for the first time. Chako Sonny, executive producer of Overwatch, will manage the new studio.”
