In an exciting turn of events, the limited test of Counter-Strike 2 has expanded its reach to include nearly all CSGO players, inviting a broader audience to experience the upcoming game-changing sequel.
Valve is edging closer to the highly anticipated release of Counter-Strike 2, expected to hit the gaming scene in late 2023. The journey to this launch began in March 2023 when a select few players and content creators were granted exclusive access to the first limited test.

Now, in a recent announcement by CS2 on X, Valve is actively seeking to expand the CS2 Limited test player base. According to the post, invitations will be extended to players boasting Prime status and holding a competitive skill group rank in Counter-Strike Global Offensive. When the coveted invitation appears in the top-left corner of your game screen, clicking on it will prompt you to exit the game and initiate the download of the Counter-Strike 2 upgrade, a substantial 26GB in size.
As the excitement builds, it's important to note that not everyone has received the update at this stage, including myself. In my case, I've recently achieved a rank in CSGO and am eagerly awaiting my invitation. However, there remains hope that Valve may broaden the testing pool with the next release, granting more players a taste of the action.
With this latest limited test release, enthusiasts can now dive into the reworked Inferno map and start accruing points in the new Premier mode for their victories. Counter-Strike 2 introduces a novel pick-and-ban system in ranked play, which promises a swifter gaming experience compared to other titles. Furthermore, a new rating system has been unveiled, and hints in the post on X provide some insights into how this system will function. The gaming community is on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting further details about Counter-Strike 2.
