It is official! The Witcher game will be remade
Under the codename "Canis Majoris," CD Projekt Red had previously teased a new version of the first game.
CD Projekt Red recently revealed a number of projects it is working on, including multiple The Witcher games. One of those, codenamed "Canis Majoris," was later found to be a "full-fledged" Witcher game made by an outside studio in Unreal Engine 5. The project is now more transparent thanks to CDPR.
It turns out that the first game in the series, Canis Majoris, is actually a remake. Under CDPR's direction, the Polish studio Fool's Theory is remaking The Witcher.Since it is still in the early stages of development, the game probably won't be released for at least a few years. According to CDPR, further discussion of the project will take some time.
