Everspace 2 will be released on April 6 for PC, PS5 will get in summer

ROCKFISH Games has confirmed the official PC release date for Everspace 2, which spent two years in the Early Access program of Steam. The success of the program, which allowed the developer to reinvest the funds from early adopters into improving the game, is demonstrated by successful graduates like Ark: Survival Evolved, DayZ, and Kerbal Space Program.

Throughout its development, ROCKFISH Games provided detailed roadmaps for Everspace 2, setting a good example of how to utilize the Early Access program effectively. The full release of a game from the Early Access program is seen as a success, as many titles can become stuck in limbo.

The launch trailer of Everspace 2, which is set to leave Early Access on April 6 for PC, also serves as a story trailer, offering a glimpse into what players can anticipate from the game. The spaceship shooter was first made available through Steam's Early Access program in January 2021 and has received consistent updates for the past two years.

ROCKFISH Games expressed that the early launch of Everspace 2 exceeded their expectations. The game will also be released on console platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a tentative summer 2023 release date. The game's demands are too high for last-gen consoles to support.
