Inside, the ROG Ally is powered by the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, rooted in the Zen 4 architecture. Those preferring the base model will receive a marginally scaled-down Ryzen Z1 processor. Coupled with AMD Radeon Navi3 Graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a spacious 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, the ROG Ally delivers compelling performance for both gaming and multitasking.
The console, running Windows 11 right out of the box, provides access to a vast library of games from platforms like Steam, EA apps, Epic Games, and Xbox Game Pass, including a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The gaming experience is further enhanced by the ROG Ally's dual-speaker setup, featuring Asus’ Smart Amplifier Technology.
As for connectivity, the device includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C port combo for the ROG XG Mobile Interface, and support for a UHS-II microSD card reader. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the ROG Ally's 40WHr battery with 65W charging may fall short compared to the battery longevity of its rivals like the Steam Deck.
