Just a day after releasing iOS 16.4.1, Apple initiated beta testing of its upcoming iOS 16.5 version, starting with the release of the first developer beta. The public beta is expected to follow tomorrow or Thursday, with the final version anticipated to be released in late April or May. As WWDC is only a couple of months away, iOS 16.5 could potentially be the final iOS 16 update before the launch of the first iOS 17 beta in June.

According to a report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, iOS 16.5 is expected to have minor improvements similar to those of iOS 16.4, as Apple aims to reserve significant updates for the upcoming iOS 17 release. Nonetheless, there are some confirmed features that are included in the latest beta update.

How to install iOS 16.5 public beta

The installation process for iOS 16.4 beta has undergone changes. To install the beta version, users must first go to the Apple Beta page and click on "Sign Up" to register with their Apple ID. Once registered, they can log in to the Beta Software Program and select "Enroll your iOS device." Next, users must open the Settings app on their device, tap on "General," and then select "Software Update." In the "Beta Updates" section, users can choose the iOS Public Beta option. It's important to note that the beta option may take a few minutes to appear in the Software Update section after registration.
