LOS ANGELES (TechtUSA) - Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth have announced their decision to divorce, just days before their 12th wedding anniversary. The couple, who got married in 2011, released a joint statement on Instagram on Friday to confirm the news of their split.
“It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the post said. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
Witherspoon and Toth share a son, and they have stated that their son is their top priority amidst their divorce. They have requested privacy during this time. A representative of Witherspoon confirmed the authenticity of the joint statement released by the couple on their social media accounts, and as of now, no divorce filing has been found in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Witherspoon was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe and the former couple have two children together. They divorced in 2008.
