Oppenheimer and Barbie competition is fierce
Rotten Tomatoes compiles reviews from reviewers from across the web, calculating a score based on what percentage of reviews are positive and how many are negative. Barbie debuted on the review website on Tuesday with an impressive 89 out of 100. At the time of this writing, the film's score had increased to 90 out of 100.
However, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer surpassed Greta Gerwig's with an opening score of 94 out of 100. Of course, these scores may change as more criticism comes in.
Oppenheimer's score makes it Nolan's best critically acclaimed film to date. Nolan's second best movie on the site was 2008's The Dark Knight, which is the second movie in the Batman trilogy and scored 94 out of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes. Both movies had been anticipated by movie lovers and the expectation was huge.
