ByteDance, the owner of TikTok has answered rumors related to using TikTok to track people. Here are the company's explanations.
Tiktok was previously accused of tracking personal data. However, in this period when confidentiality is extremely important, the company denies these claims. According to TikTok, it cannot be used to monitor individuals "in the way [Forbes] suggested" because it does not collect precise GPS location data from US users.

Forbes recently claimed that China-based team from ByteDance used app to track people, specifically claiming "the personal location of some specific American citizens." Yet it's not clear whether these people's information was actually gathered. Forbes said that ByteDance's Internal Audit and Risk Control department is responsible for the monitoring project. According to the publication, the group planned to collect location data for at least two US citizens who had never worked for the company using TikTok.
