Redmi's new laptops launched

Xiaomi has recently expanded its product line with the introduction of the Redmi K70 series, comprising the K70, K70 Pro, and K70e models. Alongside these smartphones, the company has also unveiled its latest laptop series, the Redmi Book 14/16 2024, in China. These new laptops bring a combination of advanced features and innovative design, catering to a wide range of users.

The Redmi Book 14 2024 stands out with its 14-inch 2.8K (2880×1800) display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, 242 PPI pixel density, and full sRGB color gamut coverage. Its sleek and lightweight design, weighing just 1.37kg and measuring 15.9mm in thickness, makes it an attractive option for those seeking portability and performance. It is powered by the Intel i5-13500H processor and features dual fans and dual 8mm heat pipes for efficient cooling. The laptop's performance boost capabilities ensure a 12% higher fps in mainstream FPS games compared to its competitors. With 16GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage, complemented by an additional M.2 SSD slot, it caters to both storage and memory needs efficiently.

Connectivity options on the Redmi Book 14 include Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is powered by a 56Wh battery, ensuring prolonged usage.

In contrast, the Xiaomi Redmi Book 16 2024 features a larger 16-inch 2.5K display, also with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB color gamut, and 400 nits brightness. This model, too, boasts a slim, lightweight full metal body, weighing 1.68kg and measuring 15.9mm in thickness. Like its smaller counterpart, it is equipped with the i5-13500H processor, dual fans, dual 8mm heat pipes, and 16GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM. The 16-inch model comes with up to 1TB SSD storage and an extra M.2 SSD slot for additional space. Its larger 72Wh battery caters to extended use, and it shares the same connectivity features as the 14-inch model.

Both laptops feature HyperOS Connect, facilitating real-time communication and integration between your laptop, smartphone, tablet, and other devices, creating a unified ecosystem. This feature allows users to access their smartphone’s camera using their laptop.

The Redmi Book 2024 series includes a 100W GaN adapter that supports bi-directional USB-C cables and phone charging. This adapter is capable of charging devices up to 50% in just 35 minutes and supports the PD fast charging protocol, compatible with various devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi Book 14 2024 comes in two configurations - 16GB RAM + 512GB storage at 4199 Yuan ($592) and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage at 4499 Yuan ($635). The Xiaomi RedmiBook 16 2024 is also offered in two configurations - 16GB RAM + 512GB storage at 4399 Yuan ($621) and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage at 4699 Yuan ($663). The RedmiBook 14 is available in Starlight Silver and Starry Grey, while the 16-inch variant is exclusively in Starry Grey. The RedmiBook 14 is currently on sale in China, with the RedmiBook 16 set to be available from December 1st.
