Nvidia releases update to fix Discord GPU slowdown issue
Nvidia handles the Discord GPU throttling problem. The company has just released a new update, which automatically downloads when you log into Windows.
Nvidia recently released an update to resolve an issue with graphics card memory clocks on some of its GPUs, including the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti. This was due to a bug introduced in the latest Discord update that reduced the memory clocks by up to 200MHz.

The issue was initially identified by users on the LinusTechTips forum and appears to be related to the integration of Discord with Nvidia's video streaming encode/decode engines. Following this, Nvidia got in works to handle this issue then released a new update fixing the problem.
GeForce users can now download an app profile update for Discord. This resolves a recent issue where some GeForce GPUs memory clocks did not reach full speed w/ Discord running in the background. Nvidia released update to handle Discord GPU throttling issue
Nvidia has resolved the issue with an update to the app profile. Previously, it could be manually fixed, but the process was complex and required downloading a profile manager, exporting, editing, and importing the profiles.
With this new update, there's no need to manually download a graphics driver or software update, as it will automatically download when you log in to Windows.
