Recent rumors suggest that Apple might be working on a touchscreen MacBook. Steve Jobs said "Touch surfaces should not be vertical. It is ineffective. It is terrible for ergonomics." at the launch of the MacBook Pro in October 2010, yet we can say that a lot has changed ever since.

Apple has yet to introduce a touchscreen laptop. According to sources close to Apple, the company is currently testing touchscreen MacBooks that could be available in 2025, according to a new Bloomberg News report.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg believes that the rumored OLED MacBook will be one of the first Macs to feature touch screens. Recent reports claim the idea is correct. The touchscreen MacBook project is still in its early stages of development. The laptop will have touchscreen capabilities in addition to the basic design of the MacBook.

In the past, prototype touchscreen laptops were used in Apple's internal testing. Craig Federighi said in a 2016 interview that those prototypes were considered a "compromise" because the touchscreen didn't make sense in a laptop form factor that already had precise multi-touch trackpad and keyboard inputs.
