Apple to order OLED panels for the iPad Pro
OLED panels ordered by Apple for the iPad Pro will arrive first in 2024. The recent reports suggested when and what to expect.
According to Korean sources, Apple placed orders for OLED panels for upcoming iPad Pro and MacBook Pro devices. Insiders say that 11-inch and 12.9-inch tablets will be available in 2024, while laptops with the new panels will be available in 2026.

Additionally, the source asserts that foldable panels are being considered, but no concrete plans exist for them. Apple's iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9 tablets currently use LCD. The new panels are currently in the process of development and limited production, so they won't be ready for final assembly immediately. Similar circumstances exist for the MacBook Pro, with both the 14" and 16" models expected to eventually switch. Apple has only used OLED for the touch bar up until this point, and it was taken out of the 2022 notebooks.
Apple is pushing for OLED adoption in order to increase competition in the panel manufacturing industry and, ultimately, reduce panel prices. Due to the fact that both Samsung Display and LG Display already supply iPhone panels, it is anticipated that they will be the primary suppliers.
