Tesla's Cybertruck shocks crowd with 4-wheel steering in action, watch the video here

Tesla is ramping up its plans to release its Cybertruck. A recent video revealed that the truck will have a rear-wheel steering feature. The launch, initially slated for 2021, has been postponed for three years.

As TechtUSA reported earlier, Elon Musk stated that the Cybertruck would begin production this summer, but mass production won't commence until next year, and the start of production isn't a crucial issue for the company.

Tesla Cybertruck will feature 4-wheel steering tech

Tesla has unveiled that the Cybertruck will be available in three different models. However, the company has postponed the production of the basic single-motor, two-wheel-drive (RWD) variant. The truck will feature a rear-axle steering system, which leads to a smaller turning radius and more precise turning, a technology already utilized by car brands such as Mercedes and Audi.

Tesla has confirmed the creation of a new group of Cybertruck beta prototypes, with one spotted in Palo Alto recently. It is uncertain if the model in the video is one of these prototypes.

Speculation suggests that mass production of the Cybertruck will commence in 2023, with Tesla aiming to produce 250,000 units per year. The cost of the vehicle was disclosed by Elon Musk in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation may result in changes to the pricing. If Tesla delivers the Cybertruck with the original specifications and pricing from 2019, it is likely to outsell the Model Y, which is currently Tesla's best-selling model.

Cybertruck will utilize from "Hardware 4" system

According to Elon Musk, the Cybertruck will feature Tesla's "Hardware 4" full self-driving computer, as well as the company's advanced driver-assistance system.
