Tesla set to launch officially in Turkey next week
Tesla hints at an official launch in Turkey next week, according to an Instagram post by the company that showed a Model Y with the native spelling of Turkey, along with the date of April 4 and a double-eyed emoji.
TURKEY (TechtUSA) - Various Turkish media outlets reported that Tesla was allegedly preparing for an organized and systematic launch of its vehicle product line in Turkey in 2023. Now, Tesla is set to expand into Turkey next week, as per an announcement on the company's official Instagram account.
The post featured an image of a Model Y with the Turkish spelling of the country's name, along with the date of April 4 and a double-eyed emoji, suggesting a significant event will occur on that day.
It is known that Tesla has been planning to enter the Turkish market for a while now. In 2017, the company's CEO Elon Musk visited Turkey and had a meeting with President Erdogan.
In December 2021, Musk and Erdogan had a video conference to discuss Tesla's potential involvement in Turkish projects.
Earlier this month, the Turkish government granted Tesla a license to operate its Supercharger network in the country, further fueling speculation.
While details are scarce, it is expected that both the Model Y and the Model 3 will go on sale in Turkey next week, but it is unclear whether the Model S and Model X will also be offered.
