Rumors are circulating that Tesla is considering the acquisition of Wiferion, a German-based company renowned for its expertise in wireless charging solutions designed specifically for industrial electric vehicles (EVs). This speculation arises just a few months after Tesla hinted at the development of a wireless home charging system for their own EVs during a company event.

As per a report from German news outlet n-tv, Wiferion, a specialist in wireless charging systems for industrial applications, is said to be planning a sale to Tesla. The information was found in an industry portal called "Gründerszene," which mentioned Tesla International BV as the potential buyer. Tesla International BV, a subsidiary registered in the Netherlands, is linked to the automaker based on company records.

Tesla has been actively working on wireless charging solutions for their EVs. During an Investor Day presentation in March, the company provided a glimpse of a wireless induction charger being used to charge a Model S in a residential garage. The setup included a large Wall Connector-type device mounted on the garage wall, with a cable connecting it to a charging mat placed beneath the rear of the Model S.
