Porsche's legendary 911 model now appears with an electric engine option. But it's not Porsche making this move!

The electric vehicle landscape has undergone a radical transformation, with newcomers like Tesla, BYD, and Xpeng propelling the tech revolution. Not to be left behind, legacy brands, too, are adapting to the change. Case in point: Porsche is meticulously crafting an all-electric Boxster model set to see daylight by next year. But, the excitement seems to be ahead of the curve. An audacious initiative by Sacrilege Motors saw the metamorphosis of a 1992 Porsche 911 into an electric marvel powered by a Tesla motor.
The timeless Porsche 911, rolling out between 1963 and 1989, remains an epitome of automotive elegance. This rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive jewel, available in various body styles, was driven by an assortment of air-cooled, horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engines. Renowned for its impeccable handling, top-notch performance, and unmatched reliability, the 911 is now also setting benchmarks in electric propulsion.

Sacrilege Motors, a US-based electric vehicle trailblazer, has lifted the curtains off the 'Blackbird'. This revamped Porsche 911 swaps its traditional six-cylinder gasoline heart for a Tesla Model S motor. This potent powertrain, boasting around 500 horsepower and 500Nm of torque, is complemented by a 62kWh battery pack, promising an impressive 320km of road journey. If its specifications are anything to go by, the Blackbird promises heart-racing acceleration, clocking 0 to 60 mph in a blink – under 4 seconds, with speeds surging past 180 mph. However, exclusivity defines this venture. Only ten Blackbirds will see the light of day, each bearing a hefty price tag of $400,000.
