Mini Cooper underwent a redesign, now embracing a modern look
As an iconic model in the world of automobiles, Mini Cooper now boasts an appearance more modern than ever before.
Automotive enthusiasts worldwide are buzzing with the latest revelation of the highly-anticipated new Cooper model by Mini. This blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge technology is masterfully achieved in the new Cooper, captivating admirers with its cabin and exterior redesign.
The cabin embraces modern minimalism. Traditional instruments behind the steering wheel are replaced by a futuristic head-up display and a central round screen, which monitor speedometer and infotainment duties. Just below, an oval-shaped panel provides a tactile experience, housing physical controls in an elegant layout. The redesigned steering wheel assures a dynamic drive with enhanced grips at the 2- and 10-o’clock positions, and is accentuated by multi-function buttons. Luxurious fabric covers the dashboard, featuring a graceful gray gradient pattern on the driver’s side that transitions to a timeless houndstooth pattern on the passenger end. A display of ambient lighting illuminates the lower dashboard upon startup, leading with the brand emblem on the screen and an animated sequence of swirling teal and yellow balls.
On the outside, the new Cooper expertly balances classic and contemporary aesthetics. The front end presents a wide octagonal feature with a trapezoidal grille. LED headlights and two horizontal bars preserve the iconic Mini identity with a modern touch. Subtle enhancements like a steeper windshield rake and shorter front and rear overhangs give a nod to the brand’s early 2000s revival, attributing a more athletic appearance to the profile. The Cooper’s unique design language continues at the rear with signature stacked triangle-shaped taillights on each side and a sleek bar across the hatch exhibiting the model’s name.
Powertrain options for the new Mini Cooper cater to a range of preferences. The Cooper E comes with an electric motor generating 181 horsepower and a 40.7-kWh battery, capable of an estimated 186-mile range in the WLTP test cycle. For those seeking more power, the Cooper SE offers a 215-hp motor and a 54.2-kWh battery, boasting an impressive 249-mile range in European evaluations.
