Popular in the automotive world, Kia has released its new electric model at a lower price than the officially announced one.
The Kia EV5 electric vehicle, after much speculation about its pricing, has been launched in China with a price reduction of 10,000 yuan (1.410$). This new development was highlighted during the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition 2023, where the Kia EV5 was showcased.
The EV5 model by Kia is available in three trim levels in the Chinese market: standard, long-range, and AWD. The standard model is equipped with a 160kW motor and a BYD LFP Blade battery with a capacity of 64.2Wh, offering a range of 530km. The long-range variant steps up the game with an 88kWh LFP battery, delivering an impressive range of 720km using the same motor. For those seeking more power and capability, the AWD version features dual motors (160kW front and 70kW rear) paired with an 88kWh battery, though the range for this model hasn't been specified yet.
Inside, the Kia EV5 boasts a modern and technologically advanced interior. It features three screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate control panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Adding to its appeal, the EV5 comes with Level 2 assisted driving capabilities, including semi-automated lane changing and intelligent remote control parking, enhancing both convenience and safety.

Kia is offering a comprehensive 5-year warranty (or 100,000km of range) for the EV5. Additionally, the battery, motor, and electronic control system are covered for 8 years (or 150,000km), ensuring peace of mind for buyers.
Kia has plans to release the EV5 in various international markets, including Canada, South Korea, Australia, and others, in 2024. However, specific details regarding the international release schedule and pricing in these markets are yet to be announced.
