Hyundai's electric models are shattering records in America
With a swift entry into the electric vehicle industry, Hyundai is accomplishing highly successful operations in the United States.
June turned out to be a month of celebration for Hyundai Motor America, as the company witnessed a significant boost in vehicle sales within the United States. Achieving nearly 10 percent growth year-over-year, Hyundai sold a total of 69,351 vehicles, suggesting a robust demand for their products in the market. The year-to-date results paint an even brighter picture with an impressive 15 percent growth over the last year, amounting to a total of 394,613 units sold.
An achievement that Hyundai takes pride in is the substantial surge in the sales of their all-electric vehicles. The company reported that it sold 4,298 units of its Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models in June alone, marking an exceptional 51 percent increase compared to the same month last year. This performance set a new monthly record for Hyundai, with the sales of the Ioniq 5 crossover/SUV and the Ioniq 6 sedan standing out with 3,136 and 1,162 units sold respectively.

Interestingly, these remarkable sales figures were achieved without the availability of the $7,500 federal tax credit on new purchases, making Hyundai's accomplishment even more significant. Despite the absence of this financial incentive, customers showed an inclination towards the company's electric vehicles, pointing to a shift towards more environmentally friendly transportation options.
Hyundai's success in the electric vehicle sector is attributed to various factors. Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, lauded the positive influence of strong retail partnerships and the timely introduction of appealing products in the market. Parker expressed his satisfaction with the company's performance, stating, "Our award-winning EV lineup continues to build momentum with the best all-time monthly sales for the Ioniq 5 and the first time with over a thousand units sold for the Ioniq 6. Our strong retail partners and the right product at the right time have enabled us to attract new and existing customers to the Hyundai brand." While specific sales figures for the Hyundai Kona Electric were not provided, the company mentioned that the model achieved a remarkable year-over-year growth of 239 percent.
