Geely launches its much-anticipated new SUV model
Chinese car manufacturer Geely offers its new SUV model, boasting a range of 1,370 km, at a very attractive price.
Geely has recently introduced the Galaxy L7 Phantom Edition SUV in China, showcasing a series of enhancements over its predecessor. One notable feature of this edition is the inclusion of Geely’s NOA advanced driving assistance platform. Interestingly, those who purchased the Geely Galaxy L7 before September 16 have the opportunity to upgrade to the Phantom Edition at the same price throughout October 2023.
The Galaxy L7 Phantom Edition boasts six exterior color choices: dawn gray, midnight black, dawn white, clear sky blue, dusk mountain purple, and galaxy white. Compact in its design, this edition has a wheelbase measuring 2,785mm and overall dimensions of 4,700 x 1,905 x 1,685mm. Drawing inspiration from the Galaxy Light design architecture, its aesthetics echo the designs of the current models. The SUV features a closed grille, through-type split headlights at the front, and at the rear, it's adorned with a roof spoiler and through-type taillights.
Under the hood, the L7 Phantom Edition houses the NordThor Hybrid 8848 system, a combination of a 1.5T four-cylinder hybrid engine and an electric motor paired with a 3-speed DHT. This powerful synergy produces a whopping 287kW of power and reaches a peak torque of 535Nm. Performance-wise, this model can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 6.9 seconds.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with modern tech features including a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 13.2-inch central control screen, and a 16.2-inch co-pilot screen. The multifunctional, four-spoke steering wheel adds to its premium feel. Powering its interface is the Galaxy N OS operating system complemented by a Quantum Snapdragon 8155 chip. Enhancing the driving experience is a 25.6-inch AR head-up display and the Navigation On Highway Assist feature, facilitating autonomous lane changes, overtaking in high-speed mode, and autonomous ramp navigation.
In terms of safety and assistance, the Phantom Edition is armed with ultra-long-range and four long-range millimeter-wave radars. Additionally, it has 12 ultrasonic radars, an 8MP front-view camera, and a 2.5MP front-view camera. For ultimate comfort, the SUV offers electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated seats. An added luxury is its theater mode, where seats can recline to a relaxing 125 degrees.
When it comes to range, two electric options are available: 55km and 115km. The combined cruising ranges for these are 1,310km and 1,370km, respectively. Fuel efficiency for these variants stands at 2.35L/ 100km and 1.3L/ 1000km. As for its price tag, the Geely Galaxy L7 Phantom Edition starts at 185,700 yuan ($25,500). Currently, details regarding its international release remain undisclosed.
