BYD has begun to push the boundaries in the global market

This week, BYD, in partnership with Vantage Automotive, an authorized dealer in Singapore, announced the launch of the BYD DOLPHIN. This electric vehicle (EV) is a marvel in design, mirroring the beauty of the ocean. The car marks BYD's second purely electric passenger car offering in Singapore, however, it is the first to leverage their advanced e-platform 3.0. The BYD DOLPHIN comes with a blade battery and meets the COE A standard, all for a price tag of 156,888 Singapore dollars, which equates to around 841,222 yuan.

Singapore enforces a requirement for individuals to secure a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) to register a new vehicle. This certificate signifies vehicle ownership and grants the right to occupy the limited road space for a decade. The COE functions as a specialized license obtained through competitive bidding.

The BYD DOLPHIN delivers impressive specifications: a 44.9kWh battery, 94 horsepower, and 180Nm of power. The five-seater model offers an acceleration of 100 km in 12.3 seconds and a WLTP cruising range of 340 km, making it a compelling package for EV enthusiasts.

BYD has begun to push the boundaries in the global market

With its continuous sales growth, BYD has cemented its place as the top EV brand in Singapore. Just in the first half of 2023, the company sold over 300 units. The general manager of BYD Singapore Branch, Huang Chunquan, conveyed his confidence in the success of the BYD DOLPHIN, emphasizing its potential to attract customers of all ages and contribute to a greener future for Singapore.

In June, BYD achieved noteworthy sales figures. The company sold a total of 253,046 new energy vehicles globally, marking an 88.79% increase from the same month last year and a 5.34% increase from May 2023. The company's overseas sales of new energy vehicles also saw a growth, reaching 10,536 units in June.

The introduction of the BYD DOLPHIN, combined with the company’s consistent performance in the EV market, shows that BYD continues to play a major role in promoting sustainable transportation solutions and extending its global reach.
